For Black History Month, we wanted to explore the depth and evolution of Black culture throughout the decades in a vibrant and authentic way. We start our journey off at the time of the Harlem Renaissance, which marked an intellectual, social and artistic movement led by Black artists, centered in Harlem, NY spanning the 1920s. We then move from era to era, seamlessly paying tribute to iconic moments in Black music, fashion, movies and television. This visual mini-art history lesson showcases how Black entertainment has shaped the nation’s culture from Harlem to Hollywood. And with its Black Film & TV collection, Xfinity is the home of The New Renaissance of powerful Black stories, writers, producers, directors and casts.
