PUMA “The Fabric of Hip Hop”

The ultimate Hip Hop storyteller, Slick Rick “The Ruler” is leveraged by us in this anthemic spot to tell the PUMA story as it joined in celebrating the first 50 years of the most impactful music genre in the world. Joining Rick is LSU baller and emerging rapper, Flau’Jae Johnson. Together they tell the story of a culture started by disenfranchised, young Black and Hispanic youth in the, then poverty-ridden, outer boroughs of New York City. These youth chose to rock PUMA for its stylish, innovative use of suede, its choice of New York Knicks legend and fashion-forward icon, Walt “Clyde” Frazier and for the very practical way the sneakers allowed B-Boys and B-Girls to break and glide to the beat. Here’s to the next 50 years!
